Who We Are
The CO2SMART Center is a collaborative research initiative focused on advancing geologic carbon storage through innovation in modeling, analytics, and risk reduction. Bringing together expertise from academia and industry, the center develops practical solutions to better understand and manage CO2 behavior in the subsurface.
OUR MISSION
Delivering science-based, industry-relevant solutions and training a skilled workforce for the safe, scalable, and cost-effective deployment of geologic CO2 storage through collaboration among industry, academia, and government.

NSF IUCRC PROGRAM
The National Science Foundation Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC) Program connects researchers at university sites across the country with relevant industry, foundation, and government experts to form strong pre-competitive research collaborations benefiting industry needs. IUCRCs use a leveraged funding model based on membership fees to fund the research, with researchers and resources provided by university sites and administrative costs supported by the National Science Foundation (Learn more about the IUCRC Program here and watch a video by CADMIM).
